Why Oxygen Builder

WordPress is a great platform by itself so why add a builder that replaces WordPress’s built-in theme engine with something different. A lot of it comes down to flexibility and speed of development.

Introducing Oxygen Builder

Oxygen Builder’s templating system is more flexible than a traditional theme for WordPress providing a hierarchy of templates allowing you to quickly build complex, reusable designs within the powerful page builder. The power of this is really shown with WooCommerce sites.

Oxygen’s powerful templates allow you to create an e-commerce site like nothing ever seen before and unrecognisable as a WooCommerce site from the front end. Taken a step future with Advance Custom Fields Oxygen allows for a level of customisation that is hard to achieve in traditional fields without a lot of custom PHP coding.

Another big benefit is the speed of development. With Oxygen Builder I am able to build WordPress sites in as little as 2 days. This is because a huge amount of complexity is taken out of the building process. Oxygen is a low code editor meaning less time is spent creating WordPress queries or writing long CSS classes. Instead, most of this is turned into a quick point and click tasks and more importantly, styles can be quickly copied to other elements.

Not only is this faster to build but unlike other page builders, Oxygen is also well optimised for Google’s page speed index. Oxygen creates well-structured code without a lot of fluff or wastage that the other builders pack in. This results in near-perfect page speed scores without having to think too hard about the elements you are using. I have built sites that score over 95 on the first test before I started to optimise the site properly for the finer details.

Oxygen is so good and fast that I spent a weekend rebuilding my own website and migrating away from Ghost back to WordPress. Oxygen was not the only reason behind this move as I needed to expand my site beyond a blog and back into a business-focused site due to changes in my freelance career. It is the reason I went to WordPress and not some other builder like SquareSpace however.

Now I am back in WordPress with Oxygen I will bring more functionalities and more content back to my site as I have time to write once again.
