Atom Editor
Not to long back I started using CodeRunner for writing web applications and I loved it. Well now I’m on to Atom and once again in love.
I’ve used Atom in the past but could never stick with it. It doesn’t handle large files very well and can take a while to open if your previous session had a large project open.
I installed Atom Beta after GitHub announced full GitHub integration was going to Atom. This was something I have wanted for a long time. A lot of code editors have Git integration but nothing on the level of what GitHub are building into Atom.
I know GitHub is not Git but as I host all my code GitHub it might as well be in my case. I used to work with some people who hosted on BitBucket but my involvement in that is now over.
On top of the GitHub integration Atom has introduced a new core theme called One (One Dark and One Light) There make Atom look at home on my mac and that is important. I spent 8–12 hours a day looking at this application.
Now this is a beta and while the current release is stable that doesn’t guarantee future releases are. GitHub are working fast on Atom as soon as version 1.18 ships I will be switching to the stable build.
